Join us on this 5 day tour to the Isle of Man wher eyou will get the opportunity to experience the Isle of Man's three heritage railways. The Manx Electric Railway which runs from Douglas to Ramsey; the Snaefell Mountain Railway which climbs to the mountains summit; and the Isle of Man Steam Railway which dates back to 1874. We take a step into the Island's past with trips to the House of Keys and a return journey on the Douglas Bay Horse Tram.
Day 1
Travel to the Isle of Man
After boarding the coach we will be heading up north to Hersham port to catch the 4 hour ferry across to the Isle of Man. once we arrive at the Isle of Man, it's then just a short 5 minute drive along the promenade to our hotel.
Day 2
Horse Tram and Douglas
On our last full day on the island, we take a journey on the charming Horse Tram along the Victorian promenade. The rest of the day is taken at your leisure. We highly recomment a walk up to the Manx Museum. This free to visit attraction is packed full of artefacts and treasures unique to the Isle of Man's 10,000 year history.
Day 3
Manx Electric RAilway, Snarfell Mountain Railway and Peel
This morning, we take the Manx Electric Railway to the pretty town of Laxey, famous for the Great Laxey Wheel, and join the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a return journey to the summit. after the descent from the summit, we drive over to the other side of the island to peel where you can enjoy some free time. there's so many options here, you may choose to visit the house of manannan, peel Castle or treat yourself to an ice-cream in the harbour.
Day 4
Castletown, Calf of Man and Steam Railway
After breakfast we travel by coach to Castletown and visit the House of Keys, an interactive retelling of the islands government. Continue south passing Cregneash to the Sound with magnificent views of the Calm of Man. At Port Erin we take a look around the Railway Museum before boarding the Steam Train to Douglas.
Day 5
Returning Home
After checking our of the hotel, we travel to Douglas port for the 4 hour crossing back to Heysham. after arriving back to the mainland, we start the final drive back to the drop off's.
